Study Information

A migraine is often associated with a moderate to severe throbbing, pounding or pulsating headache. It may also be accompanied with nausea, or vomiting and/or sensitivity to sound and light. Migraines can last several hours to several days and can affect a person’s ability to function in daily life.

Migraine Symptoms Include:

  • Moderate to severe headache
  • Headache pain that has a throbbing or
    pulsating quality
  • Headache pain can be located on one or
    both sides of the head
  • Exacerbation with movement
  • Sensitivity to light and/or sound
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Blurred vision
  • Lightheadedness or dizziness
  • Weakness
  • Aura:  Bright spots or flashes of light, blind spots or sensations of
    tingling on various parts of the body

Several Risk Factors or Triggers Include:

  • A family history of migraines
  • Hormone changes in women
  • Stress
  • Certain foods or food additives
  • Changes in sleeping patterns
  • Alcohol and/ or caffeinated drinks
